Additions to my VW

Given the - surprisingly I thought - good response to my first thread I posted up about this car, I though I'd post the updates I have made since getting it almost a year ago now.

So, I bought myself a new head unit (RCD510), a lip spoiler for the boot, de-badged and a set of mud guards. The latter I bought because I felt there was something not quite right with the look of the car...too much tyre showing when looking at it from the back I think. I can't really put my finger on it, so I bought them in the hope it might help. I think it did...maybe.

I'm still on the look out for a set of 17" VW ClassiXs or Porto alloys and I reckon that will be me done.

Anyway, here are the pics. Feel free to comment. Can't please everyone so if you like it say so and if you hate it say so. I'm a big boy, I can take the negative comments

Very smart, a nice subtle unshouty car. Dropping it on it's arse though would make it look awsome... while taking away most of the practicality and comfort.

  Turbos.
Not being funny but i see 100 a day so can't really get excited about it...

Drop it on Q7 wheels and get a chin spoiler off a GTI.

Who, what, why, where, how.... tell me more about these wheels??? From a q7? or audi s-line jobbies? I was looking at ch's for mine, but these look lush!

Scott, car looks lush bud :) im not sure on the wheels, will have a scout and see what i think would suit it. Phaeton wheels look superb, will try find pic i have of one on those. Deffo needs a chin spoiler from a gti, would solve how high the jettas look at the front.

I love the fact that through traffic, they look like an R32!

They might not be the Q7 wheels, as i think they might be 20", but they appear to be the same style. Seen them on a few new A6s as well

I like the BBS CH but if you're not going to make many mods then i personally prefer keeping it OEM+.

Does it not annoy you that the power symbol on the volume knob doesn't stay the right way up, the volume knob should turn around the centre button. Its just a little detail but it really wound me up in the passat and I'd have to sort something out if it was my car, probably by scratching the symbol off.

Ta. I might keep my eye out for a GTI chin spoiler as well then. The Yanks modify the Jettas really well, so I'll have a look there as well to see what they use.

I'm keen to keep the wheels as VW standard as possible, purely for resale. The wheels I have just now will be sold to fund new ones so I don't want something that will alienate buyers in a few years time, which I think 20" Audi rims would...as nice as they look.

Cheers!

Def needs a set of wheels on (and a remap ;)) but loving that boot spoiler mate!

Lol, a map is still on the cards, but I want the exterior sorted first.

Yeah it's so annoying. I do sometimes turn the volume right down so I can turn it back up again and alight the button correctly lol. It wouldn't even have been that hard a job for VAG to fix it in place and have the outside of the knob turn.

Good thing with these is all they need is a big drop and some tasteful wheels and they look uber cool. Like the white Golf above, do it:)
