Adhesive Advice

Hi, I'd like some advice on an adhesive to use on body work.

I want something with similar properties to silicone, but I'm unsure if silicone will eat into the paint work??

Basically I want something that will stick to my car, but can be peeled off and leave no residue?

Depends what you want to stick to your bodywork.

If its a horse, you're going to need something strong. If its a Bic pen, you won't.

We need details Espadrils.

FLOL!

Just a badge, it'll be on the bonnet, so strong enough not to be blown off at 100+ but nothing amazing.

Will silicone eat my paint or anything?

When you say silicone, do you mean bathroom sealer? Please say you don't.

If its a carbon sticker type thing, then just use double sided tape?

Well I don't mean that, kind of... basically, who ever fitted those bloody "Renault Sport" bullets onto the car before used something that looked very much like bathroom sealant, they held on well, but basically peeled off, and left no residue... that was the method to my madness.

It's not a sticker, it's an actual ph1 badge, covered in carbon wrap and filled in at the back.. lol!

BUT, you have just given me an idea, so thank you.

I know of some weird double sided tape that's like a thick black sticky spongy thing in the middle... I'll give that a go.

MrMahoosive was the culprit with the bullets.

I'm glad I (somehow??) helped.

Can't sleep. Been flat out on coffee all day due to a stressful sleepless night last night.

My eyes were actually twitching earlier! lol.

iirc, I've had two redbulls and about 6 coffees today. Got a banging headache too.

We'll all be winners when we're pissed up in a field on the 30th July. :D:D:D

I've got to go to bed. I'm being picked up at 4.30.

Night. x

Normally would suggest something like tigerseal which is normally used on skirts and I even used it on a thumbgrip recently..

Give Dow Corning a go. Its silicon based but cant see it damaging you paint. Its a bit of a myth that silicone is bad for paint, some are but not all. As long as they dont contain "petroleum distillate" .

Hmm not sure about the removing it again sorry, although I do have to remove some from a car when they fitted side skirts and it went onto the paint and that came off ok..
