adjusting handbrake

im not sure if this has been covered before, i did have a look but didnt see it...

ive got a 99 clio 1.2, and i need to adjust the handbrake. im adjusting rear brake shows (hopefully) also, but although in haynes manual it says the adjuster is underneath the car, i dont seem to be able to find it, and there seems to be an adjustment screw on handbrake, is this the one?

If its like my 2001 clio

You have to remove the heat shield from under the car.
You will then be able to see the handbrake adjuster.

Just do up the adjusting bracket however much you need to.

wots the adjuster thing on the handbrake itself inside the car?

which part of the heatshield do i need to take off, is it near the cat pipe?

Not noticed the one inside?

the heatshield is the small one about a 1.5ft long, if u look at the handbrake its inline with that.

I found the one under the car the easiest to adjust and now its spot on.

on your 99 clio the adjuster is inside the car (next to the handbrake under the plastic), just tighten it up until needed!
