Advice about nsuring a car at Uni

  Peugeot 306 HDi
I am off to Uni next month and I'll be going to Leeds, but my insurance is also due for renewal. I want to take the car because it is more practical than the train and I want to be able to take my bike out across the Dales, but I'm not sure what to do about insurance. Do I insure it for my home address or my Leeds one? It'll be here more (by about a week) than in Leeds per year, and it may not be with me every term. Any advice please?

Thanks

i know my cousin insured it from home... had it stolen in leeds... (where he goes to uni)... no problem with pay out, just said he had taken it down to pick some stuff up and was staying the night... you will find insurance steep in leeds though.... car crime is very high... up to you but you know what you should be doing ;).....

Ive had this issue when i started Uni.

The legality on this question is whichever postcode is the highest risk.

That was the official guide i was told by 8+ insurers after checkign with the Underwriters.

T+C rather than legality.

Insurers are sneaky with everyone else, there's no reason to stop you saying "the car doesn't stay with me at uni, I just had it there for the weekend".

Nothing they can do about that.
