Advice on how to upgrade my pc

  Fiesta Silver Limited Ed.
Got a MESH computer around a year ago now - was a bit of a stop gap didnt pay too much for it - monitors a nice 19" wireless everything as usual but the desktop seems so slow compared to my laptop i have recently purchased.

my desktop runs:

Intel Pentium Duo Core (2.8Ghz, 2mb cache, 800mhz)

ASUS P5B-TMX PCI-Express Mainboard - Pentium D/coreT.2 Duo - Micro

1024mb DDR2 533Mhz Memory (2x512mb)

250gb ata hard drive with 16mb buffer

512mbDDr2 nVIDIA GeForce 7300GS

Advice really appreciated.

In what way is it slow general usage in windows, Gaming or something else?

As even though its getting on it should be that slow. Although if you wanted to upgrade it would depend how much you are wanting to spend to what my advice would be.

That spec doesn't seem bad at all, I'd get 2GB of ram (get the quickest the mobo can handle) probably only about £50. If you use it for gaming I'd suggest a new graphics card but for your usual tasks your one is fine.

The main reason it's slow is it's probably full of crap! Run some spyware removal (I use ad-aware) and virus scan (AVG) (both of these are free), then do a disk clean up and defrag it.

generally running slow - i dont use it much for gaming although have considered buying flight sim x, as just had a new joystick for xmas.....

so general usage in windows mainly...

i would say that i owuld be willing to spend arond £150-£200

This would depend however on what type of upgrade i would be getting...

thanks alot

i'd be tempted to reformat and start from scratch with a fresh install.

hmm yes can see your point - however if you go down the recovery disk road then MESH, then the MESH discs dont provide drivers for various components within the pc - which i knw MESH have had alot of trouble with.

Its not really full of crap only using around 15Gb out of the HD.

The ram is definately a consideration....

It is likely full of s**t doesn't matter how full the hard drive is. Just wipe it reinstall and get the drivers from whoever makes the parts. Not mesh.
