Been offered a Mac mini for free after my financial situation changed dramatically and I had to sell my MacBook ..

It has the following specs

2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
1GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM - 2x512
120GB Serial ATA drive
SuperDrive 8x DL

Will this run ML or even Lion?

Will it run Plex

Will it run iTunes 11 and the latest version of iPhoto?

And is the ram and hd upgradable if yes to how much?

Might be worthwhile sharing your answers on here, just incase someone is trying to find the same answers as you and comes across this thread.

Yes it runs lion. But only once RAM is upgraded.

ML can then be hacked to work.

It runs iTunes 11.0.2 just fine and plex and xbmc.

So far so good no issues .. Just needs a newer os!

ML isn't all that.

I think Snow Leopard is still the best OS.

That would be an ideal Plex/XBMC machine.

Upgrade RAM from Crucial or like, and get an SSD in there, that will be a best of a machine.

I need Ml it's not optional ..

I have an iPhoto library created on a newer ML machine which I can't access until I upgrade this one to ML so iPhoto can upgrade to 9.4.2

I have pictures of my daughter in that library I really need back.

I think Lion may be possible .. But if not its ML
