2 identical cars might develop completely different faults, if I were, I would take along a mechanically minded friend with you as well as having a look at the guides that fUbAr has pointed out.
Not being ungreatful, just thought that since this is a clio forum, people who have these models and who know about them would post their advice. The general guide was a help, cheers.

no aware of anything specific
rattles can be an issue but not a lot u can do about that
just take it out for a drive press all the buttons to make sure everything works and if it seems solid enough and runs alright then not a lot more u can do (hpi check of course)
2nd probably, no point buying new although there are huge discounts
