I have been told it is possible to buy a different style of aerial which is just a small reciever box that can sit in a window etc, connect upto the headunit in the usual way and receive the signal..
Funnily enough, I was removing the Audio stuff from a Golf today and there was an ariel lead that was powered by a looped live wire from the headunit. It never went to the roof of the car (standard ariel placement) but to a long wire that was stuck to the inside of the windscreen. So small you couldn't even see it!
P.s, I removed all of this stuff as the radio reception was utter garbage and refitted standard stuff. Much better! lol.
Tried Matt yeah, he said hes never heard of them, which gave me little faith, but knowing you have/had one has brightened me up a bit!
Need to sort something as cant get the car sprayed until I decide either way!!
I know Vauxhall Omegas have them as standard, our 2 did. The older one buggered up though, ended up being impossible to get a radio signal and have the heated screen on at the same time.
Yeah seems from a bit more research it will need power....
Hmm, need to sort a new headunit out too so I'll have to speak to someone about it, probably bass junkies or something...
