It's quite common for it to be a loose airbag wire under the passenger seat , try wriggling it , if that doesn't work try the wire under the drivers seat . Seems to cure it most of the time .

Means there a fault or the system has been set off
Do a search the issue will be the wires under the seat most likly.

dose any1 knw wat wires go togther as the previous owner has cut the connectors off and half the wires are not connected

Yours may be a bit more complicated then. Previous owner has probably tried to mess about with the wires to get the light off and had no joy. May sound daft but has it had an accident at all.
