air bag blow up

  C63 AMG, F430 & 172

i hav take my seats out, n put buckets in, disconeted the batt then the sensor, as the sensor will no longer be in will it set the bags off when i re connect the batt

  Scenic mk1 (F3R)

confirmed mate on my car when i crashed it the air bags didnt go off anyway but back to the poin you will only have a dash light on dude dont worry bout it

You need to stick a resister in th wiring to stop the light comming on. The resister will fake the computer into thinking an airbag is connected hence not set the light off.

You need a resister between 1.8 and 4 ohms in the wiring.

I did exactly this - as edde says you can kill the warning light with a resistor. Yozza is getting some suitable ones made up in a neat clip.

if you have a airbag warning light on - if you have a accident the airbags or pretensioners will not deploy - even if you have every thing connected ---- Warning light = no deployment

Thats what I thought, but in practice its not true. Sis went off even though he had the warning lights on.

Lokis airbags never went off in his accident.

Not sure about his pre-tensioners. I think they run off a different system. Seperated from airbags....

heheh

the belt is pulled down. so it doesnt "woble" anymore

at the end of the pre-tensioner the cap gets blown off and part of wire is showing thru as it pulls the belt holder down.

kk so if a buy 2 x 2.3 ohm resisters today and put them in the loom the light shoult go off? and airbags will work? also omn the sensor there is too small holes where it plugs in, should i just loop the reister from one hole the other,
