Air box advice

Hi all

Sorry if this has been done to death, did have a brief search but didn't find much.

I have a k&n on my ph2 172 which I want to swap to an air box. What would be the best air box option?

Ph1, ph2 or V6?

Ph1 or v6 are the better options but the ph2 box is also good

If I went for the V6 air box will the V6 ilet pipe fit as well? Looking at it I might have to get a long breath tube?

As far as I'm aware, unless you're after noise, then the standard box with a decent filter (ITG) is arguably the best option.

Saying that, I've just bought a V6 box with an ITK filter so will let you know how that fares when it's on over the weekend.

It would be interesting to know what the difference is scutch also are you using your standard pipe?

No mate, I've bought a full assembly with different inlet pipe.

I was looking at one full assembled with pipe. So I take it the pipe will work ok? Also what shape is yours, as the one I'm looking at is rectangular.

I had a aftermarket air box mate changed to a standard air box felt a lot better and then stuck a pipercross panel filter in car seems much better with the standard box I put a ph2 box in.

Yeah my k&n get so heat soaked, after a drive it's pretty hot to touch so can't be doing much for the car. Guess I will have to look out for a inlet pipe and get a pipercross filter
