Air Conditioning/Heating Problem

I have a problem with my Conditioning/Heating unit. It only produces a small flow of air. I have up the speed nothing happens. I have tried all combinations of settings but still nothing.

I have checked the fuses and they are all ok. Anything else It could be?

you tried removing the knob and twisting the actual bit that sticks out? Check the wiring behind it

Mk2 172's don't have a knob they have a digital up or down button.

Not sure what it could be. What reg is it? Not still under warranty?

Thats correct no knobs. Its on a 53 plate so still under warrenty. But my local dealer tries charging for everything, so just thought I would try having a go myself before I get a chance to take it in.

Ahh, I've got a cup so mines got knobs, LOL! Does it slow down at all if you try to slow it down? Make sure there aint any bizarre settings on it, just a stab in the dark. If you speed it up, does it register on the display that you've sped it up? Like on our golf, everytime you press the "faster" button another black box appears in the display next to the previous one.

Well something strange happened this morning. I got in my car and it was working for the first time in over a week. Fingers crossed its back to normal now. Its thats the case I will just put it down to a loose electrical connection

its not on auto is it? if so it will go at its own speed until you take it off auto by pressing one og the 'direction' buttons.

No its not on auto.

Went to use my car after work and its packed in again. Must be a loose electrical connections somewhere

Think its totally packed in now. Also when i try putting it on full blast a funny noise comes from behind the dash:dapprove:
