With a 1.2 you wont notice much, slap a new K&n pannel in there and youll notice a better pull at lower revs and youll also notice it get to 80mph with (and heres where the 172 owners start bashing me) less effort before it starts to struggle. i noticed that std itll get to 65 ish and then start to be gay.

Yes itll make some difference but its not like your guna get in and find itll pull like a train lol. My personal opinion is a pannel because i liek raw engine noise, and tbh when your flying along at 20mph and making a lot of noise it doesnt look good.

As for an induction kit, ive only ever had an open k&n. Lot of noise and more petrol consumption. Low revs is a b*****d and itll pull like a penis, however you will notice a bit more power at higher revs. Ive never experienced an enclosed one. So i wont comment.

Hope this helps !!!

I had a pipercross cone filter on mine, made a lovely sound and felt quicker on cold days, in the summer though it was definatly slower, used more fuel and tended to bog down at low revs.
