Air induction conversion

  Renault Clio 1.6
Hi All,

I'm not the best when it comes to cars so here's where you come in haha.

Was thinking of converting the intake setup which is an aftermarket induction kit (fitted by previous owner) to the original factory fitted version but with the uprated hoses and itg panel filter? What would be the best way to go about this as I have read up alot on this topic and it seems to be the best option vs cash and outcome. Can anyone fill me in with what I would need to do this swap over, links to items needed would be greatly appreciated aswell :) many thanks!

Mike

Do you have a photo of what the setup is at the moment? You may be able to use the hose/elbow from that depending on what it's like.

Otherwise, it sounds as though you'll need a standard airbox off the same engine as yours and then the ITG or filter of your choice.

I'll try and get a picture of my car Engine bay up tomorrow when it's a bit lighter outside then hopefully it will make it easier to diagnose! Thanks

I'd personally recommend a ph1 Clio standard airbox (with the ITG or a Pipercross filter inside) and you could possibly cut that red hose down to fit, or just get a ph2 standard induction elbow for use with it.

Here is a photo of what one looks like:

That's a ph2 induction elbow with a ph1 airbox. The ph1 induction elbow won't fit in a ph2.

Thanks for the info guys, I'm interested in buying one but I don't have access to the buy page as I'm not a full member as I only just purchased the car :(

I have a ph2 airbox and elbow if you're interested, possibly the acoustic valve also but not sure about the cold air feed pipe

  Ph1 172 and Ph1 225
While were on this subject. Does anyone know if you can still get the RS2 intakes anymore?

  Ph1 172 and Ph1 225
one was being sold the other day over on the clio sport owners club Facebook page for £1100 all in but not heard anything of new ones being sold
Seem like an absolute nightmare to get your hands on. Is there an equivalent does you know?

I'm sure there's a lot more better people to ask than me haha! from what I gather you can get the rs2 which will boost you to about 200bhp maybe a little more? and as I say there was one for £1100 the other day! or you could go with ITBs? which is more expensive but more of a power gain?

I don't know much myself tho but I'm sure someone on here will be able to help?

people have tried to make their own rs2 style inlets also on here

I'm sure the previous owner left a pipe under the passenger side front light that goes all the way to the bottom would that be part of this unit? It's part fabric coated, I think? Is it true that the standard runs smoother than the induction kit I have fitted in the above picture?
the problem you have is your induction kit is located where it will intake a lot of hot air! you would be better just buying another elbow and locating that filter behind your headlight! would cost £13 for the pipe!

I have never used a standard airbox so couldn't help you there

Haha no worries mate. I thought about itb's but I'm wanting a single body really because I want to boost it this year.

I'll do some more research.

Cheers mate

that's what I'm running, if you search fattys induction kit on here you'll find a lot of other people are also!
Looks good dude, I see what you mean by the intake I did look at the maxogen but the price is a bit costly haha! Do you know a good place that sells that fatty kit? Would you rate it as good?

fattys kit is his home made equivalent to ktecs induction kit! you would just need the other elbow I have being about £14 off eBay and I would say a new filter but you could use the one you have if you wanted? filter would be about £20/25
