Airbrushing

  Williams 2
Anyone else into airbrushing?

Have a half decent airbrush, but have been using it with my DIY compressor in my shed, a 2.5hp 50 litre jobby. Nothing great but more than good enough for what I use (touch-up gun, airbrush, inflating tyres).

Would like to get something even more portable that I can literally throw in my boot or passenger seat to run the airbrush. Ideally powerful enough to power the touch up gun as well but I know that it will be pretty big money.

Any recommendations for a decent small compressor (6 litre) or dedicated airbrush compressor under £200?

And would a small compressor be better than an airbrush compressor?

I'm pretty sure Clarke make one. Look in machine mart mate. I got one from an auction for a fiver. No tank on it so its really an airbrush only jobby but works very good for my airbrush.

How do you find the air supply without the tank? Is the compressor continuously on or does it only come on when you are actually using the airbrush?

And how loud is it mate?

Mine is always on but it has a foot pedal to turn it on and off. And it is about as loud as a fridge compressor. In fact I think thats what mine might be :/ haha.

I'll see if I can find a link.
