Aircon troubles

For some reason my aircon doesn't seem to work on my clio 172 phase 1. The button doesn't light up neither does it seem to do anything. Whereabouts would the aircon pump be if it is installed? or are there any common faults with the aircon systems in clios?

my air cons shagged too, light comes on but the pump doesn't kick in. annoying as hell as i don't know how to troubleshoot....
