It's a loose surface in places, but you're not following anyone so stone chips are non-existent. Worst you get is a side of the car covered in mud/dirt from going sideways so much.
Bet £20 anyone could spend if they enjoy 'driving' as opposed to looking.

I honestly though we'd arrived a day early when we rolled up at 9am! Thankfully though the hours panic gave us time for a fuel stop (pretty frequent tbh)
Couple of random pics from our trip - we stayed over in Honiton and made a day of it by having a well earned pint in Sidmouth.
