Alarm

This will sound like a stupid question but........have just bought a 172 which dealer said has alarm and immobiliser. Def got the immobiliser but where would i look to check it has alarm. I'm sure they came as standard but think mine might have been an import (Ireland?) and wanna check what the factory security fit is. Problem is, i dont know where to look for the alarm and/or best way to activate it to check. Would it have separate alarm fob or when i lock the car from the remote central locking would that activate it etc? Sorry for being dull but thought Id get some advise from those in the know!!

Is there a LED near gear lever? If so then yes.

No doesnt seem to be any led by gear lever. Got the one flashing light from dash betwen serv and stop lights which i presume is just the immobiliser? Does this mean that i have no alarm? If so, do i also presume the car is an import even though it doesnt show as an import from dvla details? is the immobiliser still cat2? Thanks Paul

lock car with plip key, leave for a min or 2, then open car with key only (do not press plip), if alarm sounds you have your answer.

Oh and has it got sensor on the front screen pillars?
