all fogged up

the windows get all misty and has loads of condensation - this builds up bloddy ice inside the front windscreen! The back passenger windows are very bad for fogging up as well. Is there something wrong with it? faulty seals? The sunroof seemed to have loads of condensation too and has bloody dripping on me on the motorway..unless its leaking! :(

If it fogs up inside the car it normally means theres a window open or cold air is getting in somewhere i think:confused:

I had this.... just drove around all teh time with the heaters on hot/full, and dried the car out, just recently its been alot better.

f**k knows. i have had a window replaced by autoglass after some c**k boy put my window through. maybe i should try that anti mist spray but its stange that the sunroof was doing that. And if the feckin thing doesnt stop rattling, im gonna smash the thing up!....or get a 182

In the cold mornings when i used to start the car up and put the blowers on to help melt the ice while i scraped it off, this made the windscreen mist up and hence freeze, so i now have to turn the blower right off, or i litrally get water dripping onto the dash when the ice melts.

French cars like minis are loads of fun! (Should i say an experience). Luckily mine doesnt freeze up inside. Guys i suggest if you dont want them to mist up buy a merc or stop the moisture getting in wherever it is.

The reason you get condesation can be one of 2 things

Warm glass reacting with cold air.

Warm air reacting with cold glass.

Tada, the mystery of misting up resolved... chances are the fogging up is caused by you getting in the car, your breath will react with the cold windows, even your body heat.

err. hmm.... Correction:-

"Moist air" (air with water vapour in it) reaching the cold glass and "condensing" (turning back into water) then "freezing" (turning into ice) because the glass is so damn cold.

Solution - make the glass warm or eliminate the moisture!

Buy some of those moisture absorbing crystals we sell at B&Q and leave em in a box under your seat. Now thats TADA
