Alloy Advice...

...Im new to buying alloys!!!!!!!!

Can anyone please help me with what I need to look for when I am choosing some 16" alloy wheels for my 2003 Clio - I notice it is 4 stud, but dont know what else I should be considering! Like tyre profile etc......

Thanks...

Cheers Mike.

By the looks of things, 185 55 16 with a four stud fitting looks to be spot on.

Anything else I need to know before I order them???

mike i have a feeling that a few peeps on here have needed to fit spacers on non 172s to fit them without rubbing as the suspension and rear beam etc is different. april as long as you tell them what year and model the car is and the size you want then they have to supply the correct offset and pcd, if they dont then they are obliged to either refund or replace with something suitable under the "unfit for purpose sold" clause in the trading standards>> hope this helps

April, arent yours 15s at the moment?

In which case, youd better add another Whoops ! ;-)

Eh? What ones????

Yeah!! They are. I read the wrong profile that id written down, but put the right alloy size.

Think Im gonna have to ring for my alloys tomorrow as the best price I can get doesnt have on-line ordering! Pants!!

Have to order some ICE instead!!!!!!!!!!!!!

loony is right of course - if you choose the wheels that you like and order them from Demon Tweeks or another well known shop you can leave the details to them - just tell them you want 16"s for your car, then its their problem if they dont fit.

I admire your disregard for the warranty! I quite like the standard 15s, so would keep them and get an exhaust instead as its not covered (apart from the cat).

??? what?

That would be my dealer then, theyre worried that the suspension is being overworked due to the new 45 profile tyres i have!

But i meant it in general to April as shes on a sudden modifying spree!

I am aware of numerous warranty issues thanx Rob!

I am going to look around and see if there is a garage that will cover me with what I am/want doing, but I want them done anyway, so.... ho hum!!! I am keeping all the original stuff, so Ill put them back on if there is a mjor problem!!

What wheels are you going for then?

Me thinks someone wants new wheels before the weekend, cant think why! ;)

Most probably toora 8 spoke matey! Have gotta speak to Renault about it first though - this afternoon and also cause I want the exhaust done next week hopefully!!
