Already have the part, how much to get fitted?

  '06 MK3 Clio 1.4L
Hey all,

I have a 2004 clio dci 80 as many of you know...

Recently bought a bashed out cat (decat) at a nice price, as getting custom decat pipes made for the dci can be expensive (£200+ at longlife, and i think £150 odd at prospeed i cant remember exactly) due to the shape of the cat...

Anyway, i would like to get my current cat replaced with the bashed out cat i recently bought...

How much am i expecting to be charged to get a garage to replace my cat with the bashed out one? i guess i will only pay the labour as i already have the parts, but how much should i be expecting to pay?

I would do it myself but i simply dont have the time and id rather get it done properly as i have never changed one before...

All help appreciated!

they are a c**t to change.

using a smashed out cat is nowhere near as good as using a proper decat on these engines due to the size of them, i remember some people having the car running worse with one.

Got quoted £100 by the garage i usually use, said it would take up about 2 hours labour because the driveshaft and some other stuff would need to be removed in order to get the cat out...

Any ideas where to go?

its possible without removing the driveshaft ive done it but it is easyer, being honest if your interested in decating it id take it to a custom place and get a decat pipe made up for it, since it doesnt need changed over at mot time anyway its a case of have one fitted and forget about it.

I was planning on getting a custom decat made before, but longlife quoted me £200+ and if i remember prospeed was around £150, which is very expensive for a decat...

Got told it would be expensive to get a custom one made because of the shape of the cat, so it would take a while to create a pipe to fit...
