Alternate Tyre sizes

I own a clio cup and I believe the tyre sizes are 195/45/16

I heard somewhere you can fit 205's on too?


Now is it possible to add 195/45/16 to the front and 205/45/16s to the back? Or is this being stupid?



Also what would be the better set up? 195, 205 or both? For grip traction and handling?

Fully matching will be best for handling in either size tbh.

Off the top of my head both axles have to have the same size tyre to pass an MOT.

i.e. 205 or 195 all round.

^^ No 16" Turinis and came with 195/45/16 on the 172 Cup

At op, I'd keep same tyre size all round tbh

There's lots of Bmws (and probably other manufacturers) with wider tyres on the rear than on the front so its not an MOT requirement.

Wheels on the same axle have to have the same size tyres, Front axle can be different to rears. Which ever is cheaper to be fair haha

To be honest I doubt your going to notice the difference on the road switching from a 195 to a 205.

I'd just stick to 195, plenty of choice in that size.

if you drive one you will find it to compensate for the under steer! You have to try very hard to get one of these to oversteer.
