Alternator Fault?

Hope someone can help me..

Was driving along yesturday when all of a sudden, my STOP and Battery lights came up

Drove the car home, 12 miles to test the battery.

The battery had 12v when the engine was off.....and 11.3v when the engine was running..

Has anyone got any idea as to what the problem might be?:S

Its a brand new battery, and the aux belt is a few weeks old.

alternator, if its below i think 12.8v when running the light comes on.

Took the Alternator to the "Alternator fixer", the copper inside had seized apparently.....£70 for it to be fully re-conditioned (with 6 months warranty), cheaper than a new one
