just had a thought - when ive been using them ive been putting them under the chassis runners, but am i being really dumb in that as theyre aclled axle stands they go under THE AXLE?

if so, and when ive recovered from the stupidity, where abouts on the axle do you put them?

I also put them under the chassis runners, as thats where Haynes say the jacking points are..

ok least im not on my own! but ive seen pics of the WRC cars on axle stands all round, and im pretty sure they were somewhere else? can anyone else help?

You can put them anywhere that is structually solid under your car, for example cross members. Just make sure its stable before you crawl under it!! For safety I always leave the jack up as a back up.
