amp buzz

ive got a buzzing from my speakers when the car is running how do i stop it

im goign to assume that the speakers are amplified, as you dont state any details of your system

if this is the case, then id have a look at your wiring, more often thannot, its down to a crap earth

Either that or at a rough guess knowsing f**k all about ICE, where do your RCA leads run? are they close to any power cables

got the speaker cables running down one side and power cable down the other side of the car

try and clean your earth lead up ie no paint where contacted to body also as short as pos if no joy try another rca lead and run a thin earth from head unit to amp

You should install a powercap. Not only will it smooth out the supply (and remove the buzzing) but will also aid ur amp to keep going when low on resources. Another option is a cap and an extra battery. Great for starting the car too!

No you shouldnt. Itll help on the first bass note but will take away power from the amp for the rest of them. Pointless and expensive. If you already have the rcas and power seperate then clean your earth.

^^ agreed, try moving your earth point, and if you have more than one earth, make sure that all amps are earthed at the same point.

Its unlikly to be the speaker cables, as they have too low a voltage, it may be the RCA cables (they should be on the oppiste side to the power as well as the other side of the ECU)
