Damn you Tomclio182 !!! you know everything and yes it is the diag mode.

but i have another which allows for a digital revometer in the trip screen. however you have to drive in diag mode.

just puts the needles through full test mode (travel) and also tells you if the instrument panel has a fault when the adac button is pressed again

the control stick for your wipers, there a button on the very end. hold that in and turn on the ignition (obviously only to full turn, you dont actually have to turn the engine on) then press the button to scroll through some meaningless info.

fooled everyone ages back with a closeup shot of my speedo at 122mph taken in the mode, had to be closeup to stop all the lights etc being in the frame. A little tip though is not to try it in a megane as resetting the ignition does not switch it out of diag mode! I had to drive round for ages with the dash going mental until it just stopped as i pulled into renault colindale!

DONT try it in the megane.....SHEER PANIC

Tried it in my gf dads megane, and it wouldnt stop...(due to the car being keyless)...Even when you locked the car and looked in the window, the dials where still moving...



Turns out you have to move out of range of the car with the card key thing, as it doesnt actually turn the car fully off, untill out of range...

(due to the fact you dont need to press a button to unlock the car. You only need to walk up to it with the key in your pocket..)



IF THAT MAKES SENCE...!!!??

I wouldnt try the other codes though, they bring up codes on the screen...

Thats a pretty cool way of convincing people your clio is infact a spaceship. Do the speakers and dials at the same time to really compete the illusion.

Ive never heard of this he might be on about the fuel flow trick.

When your in diagnostics mods press the ADAC ie button on the and of the stalk and it cycles though the problems list and then shows a digital readout this is the fuel flow in liters from the pump.

My fuel flow trick wonly works with the engine running BTW.

Just lock the car and go out of range with the key card...



It should go off in about 5 minutes....

I always thought it was the same as the current fuel consumption in regular mode.

You sure? Works in my mk1 172, which is why I thought it was current fuel consumption

Well its current fuel flow you could calculate the current MPG but youd need a constant spped for a few seconds to stop the effects on enrichment and thendivide speed by fuel flow (dont forget to translate the pump flow into gallons ie divide by 4.5461 first).
