Ah! Aye I finally get to put somewhere there.

I'll sit in the car on my laptop and change it I think ;)

Day 2:

Evening!

OK so after the failure of day one i.e. just getting a bottle of wine, I decided to really crack on on Monday evening.

The start and looking over the car it really does not need a lot of work at all, but I wanted to make certain it was 100% for Alex :)

First stage was to snow foam and pre wash the car, ready for the stages ahead. I wanted to get the car in a fit state to leave over each night. First step, the foaming. Karcher pressure washer, foam lance attachment and a concoction of Megs Gold Class Shampoo and Super Snow Foam, (1:4) and then topped up with warm water;

The car was then jet washed off to leave me with this;

The car was then washed. I used two Megs Lambs Wool wash mitts, four buckets, two filled with Megs Gold Class shampoo, the other being just water. The secondary buckets were for the wheels, which included another mitt, a Megs wheel brush and some others that I have collected over the years. Car was then jet washed off again.

The car was then fully checked for bad areas that needed claying, as well as any tar spots. The rear felt a little rough, but could not spot a single tar mark what so ever, which pleased me considering the amount of road works around me currently!!

IMG_7573.gif

The above pic shows the clay after the rear. I used Megs last touch at 5:1 and Megs quick clay as the car really didn't need touching. Just wanted to make extra certain.

The car was then washed down again using the same method (only two buckets this time as wheels were done) and jet washed down again, leaving me with this;

Here she was dried with 3x I4Detailing Uber plush drying towels. Never ceases to amaze me how good these towels are!!

And here she sat as I went in for a beer etc :)

Glad this is staying in the club, wish I could buy a car off of someone like you! Jeeez! All Alex'll need to it see and look at it! (oh and drive it)

Day 3:

So then! Having rushed out of work on Tuesday I got to this;

IMG_7607.gif

Not very many good pics of this stage really, mainly because I was quite tired and wanted to get on!

Rinsed down with the hose, then sprayed with Megs APC to quite a high concentrate to really tackle the grime. Also used some AG ITR to get rid of some tar on the shocks etc;

Sadly the arches are pretty worn and pretty beyond tidy up, mainly from different wheels and a bit of rubbing as the lines show :(

IMG_7614.gif

Everything else came up a treat :)

IMG_7615.gif

IMG_7616.gif

All arches were cleaned in this fashion and then protected with AG bumper care on the plastics and some good old SRP on the metal in the arches.

Next I moved on to the wheels;

IMG_7624.gif

IMG_7625.gif

These were cut back with Megs Scratch X 2, then SRP'd to bring out some shine, then Poorboy's wheel sealent used and then topped with some P21s because I wanted beading!

I decided to leave the tyre gel until the finishing touches on Thursday evening :) But tyres were scrubbed down when washed, using a bit of Daisy degreaser from Tescos and a scouring pad :)

Next the car had it's major plastics removed. My camera battery died at this point so there is a mish mash of camera and phone pictures!

Yes this is pretty bad OCD, but it works for me ;) Plastics removed. Any contaminents cleaned with tooth brushes and various others. Mainly APC used here. They were then treated with AG Bumper care;

No pics of the forearms getting the front bumper off :( ;)

Can I have the lock for the centre caps aswell?

Thanks for taking the time to post all this lot up :)

Lol, front bumper off? Young man, everything comes off without the bumper ;) I'll teach you :) And yes, I have four :eek:

Ah, I thought the lower grilles where plugged in from the back. I guess there's plenty of space to slide them out with the wee 1.2 though lol! I knew about the grille just bolting off the top.

Day 4:

OK so time to really crack on now!! This post brings me up to date for this evening :)

Taped up and ready to go!

Tomorrow nights job is purely to seal (weapon of choice being CG Blitz) then a couple of layers of wax (natty's Blue) and then add finishing touches like tyre get etc :)

Anyways. Knackered!!!! Will update tomorrow!!

looks clean mate. More of an enchancement then rather than a correction or was their the odd swirl or 2?

There was basically nothing fella, just a few minor smudges of marks. Thought I might need something stronger than FF but they all shifted with one pass :)

Alex, I plan to get a proper shoot in with her at some point, but just running out of time, so will have to be in your ownership :)

YHPM lad :)

If anything get her where she was in 'your car's greatest moment' pose IMO. Just text anytime tbh.

Christ almighty - and I thought I'd gone mental the other week!

I did a full blown wheels off jobby, inner arches, suspension the works! even finally swapped over the carbon cannister so the car doesn't sound like its got a bottom end knock! :)

Oh by the way did you mention to Alex its pulling badly to the left? ;)

To be fair I'd have left that out for him to find himself :)

Ach ye cheeky wee boi (as Ali would say ;)). Brakes are brand new for the MOT I just threw in for you young man! lol :) Now coming with 11months tax and 12 months MOT!

Tonight, final inspection for marring, then 4-6 sealents and two wax layers, ready for winter :D

Then tyres, then glass, then finishing interior by taking out my phone chargers etc.

Bah, couldn't have you driving away in a new car with it needing an MOT very soon :)

Flew through, btw :) No issues (apart from them tightening the handbrake for me a little :))

  DCi 100
Very good, how it shall stay!

Do you press the button in when applying the handbrake or do you just pull it?

I push the button, there is meant to be a common "loosening" fault if you don't press the button. Maybe be bull s**t, but mine has lasted much better than most.

Excellent!

Where's the suspension at atm btw? You said it's fully soft of recent, but obviously I have to crack it all the way to the other sensitivity for fun factor. What about height?

I have no idea on height lad, I wanted it to go to the right height visually for me, i.e. hiding the arches and just above the tyre line.

The rear is set to fully soft, but it is a very obvious system and you just turn the key to hard :)
