Another great day!

Went to start my car this afternoon and nothing apart from a flicker of lights on the dials.

Gave Renault assist (AA) a bell and the service was excellent, came out within 30-40mins. AA man checked it over and thought the battery was flat. Turns out to be the starter motor!

Gave Renault a call and they said drop your car off and we'll sort it. AA man managed to start it and he followed me down to Renault. With my car booked in towards the end of the month for an oil leak, Reno say they will try and get both problems fixed in one. So not sure when I'll get my car back?

Oh well these things happen hey?

Anyone else had problems with their starter motors?

UPDATE:

Gave Renault a ring today for an update on my car. The lady said they are awaiting delivery of a new battery. I said have they changed the starter motor? Because that is what the AA man said wait was wrong with it? She said she was unsure because of not having my records in front of her, I'll get someone from Service to ring you back.

2 hours went by and no phone call, so I rang them back again. Asked to speak to someone on Service, got though to a lady on service asking her for an update? She said awaiting a new battery. I said have you changed the starter motor? She said no because awaiting new battery first and can't just go on what the AA say. I said ok, have you fixed the oil leak? She was unsure. I asked what have they done to my car the last 3 days!? She couldn't find an answer.

I told her I haven't a car for 3 days and want a courtesy car. She said you can have one of the weekend courtesy cars but we will need it back for Monday morning for another customer. I said when will my car be ready? She said maybe Monday evening? I said that's not good enough, the salesman who sold me my car ordered me a courtesy car in before. Can he do the same again? She went off and asked. Came back to say, Yes that's fine sorted you can pick the courtesy car up in the morning and drop it back off when your car is ready (whenever that is).

Why is everything an effort!?

Bloody renault. Theres a few problems with mine and I really want to delay taking it to them for as long as possible. Can't go on what the AA say, they are f**king mechanics!

Mate they can have a car for you within 30 minutes if they have to. When my temp sensor went, I said that the car was undriveable and needed it fixed ASAP. Phoned Renault UK as well. AA came out, I drove to the garage, the AA then took me to avis, got a courtesy car, was reunited with my car a day later with only 1 extra mile on the clock.

If they don't have a courtesy car available and you push hard enough they will hire one and charge it back to RUK customer service where possible.

I've had one hired from Avis a few times now.

I was offered a car through the AA but for only a day, thats what was on my policy. Needed one for longer. Still picking up the courtesy car in the morning.

Car should be ready tomorrow....

Picked up the coutesy car on Saturday morning clio3 1.2 '56' plate with 43 miles on the clock and no petrol.

UPDATE: Reno called me at 17.00 today saying my car is ready to pick up, can't get it until tomorrow now.

Turns out the starter motor is and was OK, but the battery was completly dead!? and they apparantly fixed my oil leak, resealed rocker gasket, aux belt, cam belt etc.
