Hi,
im new, im looking to buy a Clio 172,
I will do a search for what to look out for but apart from the obvious (history, etc) can anyone tell me what to look for please?

You should definately check the engine bay for leaks or split pipes etc.. Amonst other things such as FSH and ask if the cambelt has been changed, depending on how many miles it has done, the cam belt should be changed, roughly at 65k.. Hope this helps
