Any ideas?

Hello all, upon looking under the bonnet noticed this, looks like it should have a pipe onto it, like air hose or something. Any ideas if its missing or should it be like this? thanks.

Its a phase 2 fuel rail, its just a phase 1 one but without the hole drilled in the end, so it looks like it should have a return pipe but doesnt.

If you ever remove it to look at it properly you will be even more confused, its got a big moulding as part of it for a pressure regulator but it doesnt have one of those either, lol.
