Any1 Got 16’s on MK1 Phse 3

Has anyone got 16s on a MK1 Phase3 1.4 (or1.2)? Did you have any trouble fittin em?

Not yet, planning to though (30-35mm). How easy to take the liners out?

I have 7,5x16 (off set 37mm) OZ superturismos on my Ph3, Tyres 205/40R16....

The inner skin on the back arch has a bump on it - that needs getting rid of.. it will catch..

195/45/16 are the same size as 195/50/15s.. mine catch there.. so 16s will! Unless you get the 195/40/16 and then you should be ok..

On the other hand, it depends on the offset, but it will catch if you get the right offset for the car.

check the price of 195 40 16 they are very expensive but if you have the extra cash probably worth it. 195 45 16 will be fine with the mud guards gone

Ive got 172 alloys on my mk1 ph3 1.2 they fit OK but I needed 5mm spacers to stop em rubbin on the damper, but if you get the right Offset then you should be fine !! archs dont rub and Im gonna lower it 35mm all round which it will do easily !! Speiro, Difficult.. cus its like solid metal.

Ive given the job to my bodyshop bloke when he does a few more bits.. mainly because its a swine, and I want a proper neat job doing - with it all being sealed, etc.. I tried, and its very difficult, and when you do get it out, its all very messy! I figured hed be able to do it all properly.

Craig, 172 wheels offset are right in the arch.. so you might not have a problem.. my guess is, when ya 35mm down.. go round a corner, hit a bump.. and itll scrape, but because of the offset being well different, it wont.

got a mk 1 ph 1 but there all the same arch size etc

got 205/40/17s on mine and no rubbin! got no arch liners though!

my offset is 40mm which i though would be out by far but seems to be fine and mines lowered 40mm!

jus take out all the arch liners and u will be fine!

All fitted now. No scrubbin either. Will take some pix tomorrow. Bit dark out there now, just managed to get em on b4 the light went. Anyone know what pressure these tyres should be at?

(Try and go over some bumpy ground - very bumpy with a passenger at a good speed... Thats when mine scraped, just to make sure..)
