any1 used a vi monitor before? dyno test

my mates just bought 1 of these for his car, so i got it all plugged in and set up for the clio, did a few runs best i got was 203 bhp.

only mods are full milltek with decat & pipercross viper

the vi monitor plugs in under the ashtray.
for the dyno test when ''go'' appears set off in 1st gear and before u hit 20mph change into 2nd gear and put ur foot down until you hit the limiter.

any1 else used this before? just wondering how accurate they are?

because its a well known proven fact, they dont make the power stated, eg 172's generally make 160-165 on a rr, and 182's make 170-175. standard of course, da's is cammed ,live mapped, yozzad, and was running itg filter. and it only made 182 on a rr.

Wouldn't if of been best to add those up, divided by 4 and got an average? Which gives you 189. Which is still too high no doubt.

Believe me, it'll be low to mid 170's at best.

Mine made 179BHP on all runs it's done and as I've said many times before it was done on an RR day with Hondas/VW's and Subaru's all of which got correct figures too. Integra Type R's were both down 2-3BHP. VR6 Golf's were bang on the money.

Standard well looked after and run in 182 with a raised limiter (so assume it has a remap) and that's it. Couldn't tell you if the inlets had been looked at, doubt it. Figure has been repeated.

no, 99% of them wont hit book power, very very few do, if yours hit bang on book power of 179bhp then what did it have pre remap?! their are ones out there running massively under powered and thats just down to dodgey cam timing! they shold never run 10bhp under or more

I couldn't give a monkey's what they run to be honest and I certainly am not trying to "bring anyone down". Just stating a well know point.
