Anyone ever taken an FK shock apart?

In need of a replacement shock for my front FK coilover as it is leaking and my MOT is soon. As with the coilover units, does anyone by any chance know if they just put the standard shock in a different housing if that makes sense?

I dont, the first pic is the standard shock that FK put in their coilover units, mine is leaking. I know how to remove it from the coilover unit but need to know if i buy a new shock such as the second pic, is it the same scenario where basically the insert is inside the shock unit so i can just swap them over, yeah bad description i know
