ive taken the old headunit out of my megane tonight, the unit that was in was an alpine one, i get it out and there is about 20 wires hanging out of the back, i manage to eventually sort it all out and connect the new sony one ive got (the renault compatable one, cdx30 i think its called)
i fit it and theres a long green connector plus two audio leads left over, (amongst other things) im thinking the green connector is to work the stalks? as the radio/CD works, reception is good 2. although theres loads of random wires and taped up bits as i think the guy before me had a sub/ boost gauges in, cant be too sure tho.
the problem is that i have no stalk control and its one of the main reasons i bought it, to make the stalks funtional again (as the alpine unit disabled them) and the interior appear more OEM, the unit also wont go back in properly... i lost my temper tonight and just came straight in...
im pretty sure i'll need some sort of adapter, but for the sake of a tenner n a cup of tea im seeing if anyone in and around manchester, fancies bobbing to salford and fixing it up for me?
