Anyone know about RS stamped plenum?

I started matching and polishing the inlets on my 172 at the weekend and i noticed that the top inlet wasn't stamped with RS. Does anyone know why?

It was mainly the 182s that were RS stamped hence why the 172s show better gains from matching inlets.

the plenum isn't stamped on any model, only the lower on 182s and a few 172 cups

I'm not polishing the exterior of them, just the internal inlets. But to polish the exterior you'll need to rub down the rough surface till its smooth, then buff it up with a polishing wheel and compound.

Inlets are not supposed to be polished to a mirror finish better with a slightley rougher surface. You do want some turbulence in the inlet.
