went to look at this today and was very dodgy. firstly the bloke said he was a friend of the bloke selling it and it was parked on the grass verge at his work for him. i asked him about the service history as it has been advertised as fsh. I had the first stamp in 06, then one end of 08 then one last month, not exactly full history.
then I notice the paint looked like it had been resprayed so i asked him and he said he didnt know but the owner has done loads of work including the stripes. confused i asked why as they come like that from factory (gordini edition RB). he paused and said they had started peeling?
So i looked through the receipts to check what work had been done, open the folder to see the log book was in a lady's name about 100 miles away? so I asked him what the owner does for a living and was he a trader as that section was missing. He a bit shady about it and said he sometimes sells cars after work.
Next I notice a receipt that the engine, gearbox and clock had been changed last year?? at this point i told him it was nice meeting him but I wasn't interested. as I was walking to my car he drove the car off the verge, across the car park to an auto crash repair center. All seems very dodgy to me!

I looked at the same car today which is for sale again at a very small independent garage on Bone Lane, Newbury!
49,000 and £3,995. I didn't get as far as looking at any of the paperwork for it or even opening the doors as I had already walked away after telling the dealer that I thought it was a bit dodgy!!
The stripes I noticed were slightly wider than they should have been and actually went over the front and rear bumper, which they shouldn't do on a gordini ed, which made me question whether it was originally a different blue and had been made into a 'gordini replica'.
Most of the paint looked very fresh/new except the rear bumper which had been resprayed very poorly, had the orange peel ripple effect going on and is even bumpy to the touch!! The front bumper didn't meet the bonnet quite right and there was alignment issues with the front o/s wing to the bonnet and door (you could tell it was a replacement as there was a mould line left at the top that was still there and hadn't been prepped properly, the paint was coming away from it places too!).
The interior looked quite worn on the bolsters for the 49k, my clio seats on 73k are in much better condition and it was the basic interior so I think it was either taken from a 1.2 or something or swapped.
This car shouldn't be on the road, I feel sorry for the poor bugger that ends up buying it

Well hopefully a few people will be warned about it but someone will buy it. Really was an awful repair and paint job, then to add the fsh comprised of three stamps one with a four year gap. Plus not the original engine and box. Really is a complete dog!
Small update - It's cropped up for sale yet again 2 days ago, as a private sale this time instead of through the garage - £2,999, £1000 off it just like that.

I've noticed it's been for parts at McAuley's garage who have a reputation for bodging cars, fitting the wrong spares and issuing MOTs on unroadworthy cars. The news just gets worse and worse.

Thats another think I noticed, the car had its cambelt done at a garage next to where it was being sold when I went to view it. That car really shouldnt be on the road

The strips just look so bad that would be enough too put me off!!
I used to own this gordini and px'd it for my megane 250 in January last year. It had 82,000 miles on the clock and the only bad thing about it was the rear stripes had peeled off a fraction. It used to be immaculate and it was the first car to have the Skoda splitter fitted due to me finding it so it sounds like its been badly mistreated to me and messed about with I had serviced it up to 80k and had both belts and aux pully at 40k. Massive shame as I really do miss this car however after hearing what's happened to it I'd tell anyone to steer clear!!
