Anyone ran with just one silencer??

Anyone ran just the mid section silencer and straight pipe back on these cars with a stainless system ? I`m thinking of trying it out just for a bit of fun, see how it sounds. Used to run a swift gti track car like this but with a side exit exhaust and just a mid silencer and that used to sound mental, used to pop and you could really hear the over run, was great fun!

guy i know runs a astra van, with a turbo red top conversion with a scaffolding pip welded stright to the manifold. thats rather loud. stupid infact, but does sounds special

my old 1.6 didnt ran straight through from the manifold to a back box, no cat or centre sections

Mine was running a decat and just the back box silencer. Was very loud, but sounded briliant when driving hard.

I have a powerflow cat back system with just a back box and it is far to loud, I'm taking it back to have a centre section put in as it sounds stupid and vibrates the whole street on idle.

I used to have a Megane coupe with the F7R engine, no baffels no cats and spat a flame. That was stupid tho!

Do you lose performance removing one of the silencers? Say i just left my centre silencer in but removed my backbox and replaced it with a single piece of stainless??

I run a Supersprint silenced de-cat and Prospeed with just a back box. Farking loud.....

Don't do it as its fooking load! My backbox broke off where the pipe meets it this week and it was deafening driving my car to K-Tec to get a stealth system fitted.

I had to run mine for nearly 2 weeks like that. Sounded nice up to 3000 rpm then just made the ears bleed after that. Not a good idea:S

No difference other than noise.

Its only a cars cat converter that has internal properties inside the bore of the pipe (hence the advantage of a decat, no restriction)

I have a yozza de-cat and a ss sysytem with only one box at the back! Love the sound, and haven't got fed up of it on motorways yet either!
