Poor show, if I was a specialist I'd be reluctant to work on OPs car after this fiasco..

Update! I've not been quiet for no reason, I only got the car back last night and like I said at the start I wanted to talk to them before I come on here with the end result.
I wanted to get some else to check the timing because YES I did think the timing was out, so wanted to see if I was right before I mentioned it again, turned out I was WRONG and it was a flat HT lead and wrong plugs from some previous work done a local sh*t garage that I'm now in dispute over the workmanship, The car only started to play up after cambelt change so straight away thought timing is out after reading so many threads about timing that my car was acting the same, needless to say it has piss them off as they've read this thread and told me about it before I even come on to answer for myself.
Anyway pic of the problem

So they pinched the HT lead when refitting the inlet? Still technically their fault then :p

I jest, glad its sorted mate :)

I'm not surprised that it wasn't the timing.
You don't become the 'go to' guy for clio/meg engine conversions by getting something like the timing of a stock engine wrong.

The car feels better to drive than before, it was coincidence that the problem showed up after belts/dephaser were changed and I'm sorry to the people involved.

Well i have no idea where you went so not sure why said garage would be annoyed when no names were mentioned.

Would have shown misfire on cylinder x if it had been plugged in, such an easy thing to spot not sure how they didn't, and yes i think its still fair to blame them since they pinched the lead regardless.
