Are ipods any good like?

Right. I have a Creative zen v 4gb mp3 player which is brilliant. Trouble is, it's full.

I need something bigger, and however much I HATE Apple and their ipod s**t, they rule the market, and everything is aimed at them so I'll have to cave in.

I was going to get a 8gb Nano, but thought, I might as well get a 80gb classic.

Can I put my cd collection on it? As well as my naughtily obtained mp3s? Are they easy to use? Can you play by artist, genre, album, random, all etc?

condering the software looks scarily alike between the two, theres apparently an patent story behind it which i dunno if its true. anyway yea all you do is import your current mp3s into iTunes and move them to your ipod. ive done itand its dead easy to do.

ipods are the nuts but itunes have made is so you can't be an ipod ***** & take your ipod to your mates & download all his/her music through itunes there are ways round it though, but this is my only real gripe. i've got the new thinner 80gb video ipod classic. go for it bud!

I have only had my ipod since christmas and hate it allready, i have alot of music i download such as brand new scouse house stuff, so i have to rename them most of the time's, but when i transfer them onto the ipod and play them in the car their under Various all the time. buggers me as iv filed in the (artist,track name,album etc) and still does it ...

Think I'll just get a 80gb classic. Then it should last until the battery f***s up and you can't replace it. Great idea Apple.

It's a piece of piss to use, easy to search, copy, convert, make playlists etc etc.

What software do you moaners use instead?

Had my nano for 18 months now and it hasn't really skipped a beat. Has frozen a few times but all you need to do is hold menu and centre button together and it resets within 20-30 seconds.

Personally I refuse to buy into Apple's market share. But I'm not fussed with huge capacity, most companies have stopped making large GB models anyway.
I've been looking at these. 16GB flash drive so no HD problems. FLAC and other lossless support, up to 60hr battery life etc..

Not a lie. itunes doesn't make it easy to do this, but it's possible if you want to get fiddly

I only got an Ipod a couple of weeks ago from Michael on here. I'd never used an ipod or itunes before but I found it easy enough to use itunes and I could get Michaels old music collection off the ipod easy enough.

I love my iPod, would be lost without it... Gets confusing when you try to use 3-4 different iPods on the same computer, got to turn auto update off in iTunes etc etc
