I know this was mentioned in one of the other AC threads - but I thought it might be worthy of its own thread.
Early access of v0.1 has been released today and I have to say that first impressions are very good. It looks great, sounds good too - but the biggest plus point is the lack of that weird 'hand-holding' that Dirt Rally 2.0 seemed to do for you at random.
That game had a strange steering assist that would occasionally make you feel like you were a driving god. The first couple of times you were smug in thinking that you'd nailed a section of bends - but after a while, you knew the game was pseudo-assisting you. Worse, the corners or sections that you did want the assistance, we're never there when you needed them.
ACR has none of that - you feel like the control (or inherent lack of) with the car on the surface, is purely down to you. Although they have only worked with Kunos as a technical partnership - the v0.1 release absolutely pisses all over the Assetto Corsa Evo release efforts so far. It's already a much more polished and rewarding experience.
I've only tried it with the XBox controller so far - but will give it a go with the wheel over the weekend.
Only cost £17.99 on Steam as well - due to the other Assetto titles already in my library.
