AST's are on

Got the car back from Mark Fish today after having the AST's fitted and setup. Gone for driveablility over looks, so it's not just been dropped as low as it'll go.

It has gone very slightly lower than the H&R's were though and he's set it up with 2.5 degrees of camber this time (think it was about 1.5 before). He's left it on softest all round so i can play about and decide which settings suit me. He has recommended i run it half way at the front and hardest it'll go at the back to start with on track though.

Been busy today so i haven't really been out in it or tried out any settings yet. Open to opinions of good road setups though.

Here's a few pics, needs a clean (inside and out)

What top mounts you gone for?

Full stiff at the rear will count for some good oversteer, I had fun with this on mine :D

Nice. These have been recomended to me and I like the way Mark Fish has set them up for you.

Soft as they go on the front, then play with the back. On track i went full hard on the rear but still max soft on the front.

very jealous that setup look lush :D am i right in thinking those topmounts are around £350 :S (want so badly) as for road setups i run my rears quite soft as i found almost all the ride comfort is controlled by the rears? might just be the way i like it but hard up front and softer at the back suits me fine :)

Not tried it on the track yet but i think my first move would be crank everything to crazy stiff :p

Nice, ride height looks decent too. Really nice car this :)

Cheers

Been out for a quick blast tonight to test them out. Started them off with 6 on the front and 8 on the back. First impressions are they're obviously not as comfortable as the H&R's but feel a lot more serious (if you know what i mean).

Got a nice stretch of road with a couple of roundabouts that i like to have fun on. After a few runs i tried 4 on the front and then tried 5. I found the rears quite stiff to adjust and had jacked it up earlier to set the rear, so i left them on 8 for tonight. Think i'll try 6 on the back though as it was a bit too hard for the road.

Also had some issues with scrubbing when i really went for it, so that'll need looking at.

As i came up to the last roundabout i was behind an 07 Focus ST. He was practically crawling around the roundabout (compared to what i'd been doing ;)) and i knew he'd put his foot down on the uphill straight after it. He did and suprisingly he had nothing on me at all.

So overall i think they're awesome and can't wait to try some more adjustments over the next couple of weeks.

Looking great Adam :) how do you find them now that you've had them on (compared to the H&R's) ?
