Audacity recording software with Traktor 3 DJ software?

I use Traktor 3 for DJing and have also Audacity for recording. Both programs work fine independantly but Audacity will not work if Traktor is running.Ive been told its possibly a sound card issue-the one in the lap top only being basic and can only handle 1 program running at a time. The thing is i want to record a set but am unable because of this issue.Ive been told an external sound card could possibly work. Anyone shed any light on this one!!?? Cheers!

I would be amazed if a standard laptop audio setup would even cope with one mainstream audio program - not two!

I've never messed about with laptop audio, so I wouldn't know what to suggest from personal experience. I have got however, a SoundBlaster X-Fi Fatality card in my PC and with XP, XP64, Vista 32 and Vista 64 - it has been fine.

Apart from some slightly lazy driver issues, it has been spot on. They do do versions for laptops as well....

Just get Traktor Scratch Pro it records your sets and you can export them as mp3's or use Ableton as its far better

not sure about the ableton bit tho, i cant help but think its just a fashion accessory, its good but its not f'n dynamite!
