Auto-Lights Sensitivity

Is there any way of adjusting the sensitivity of auto lights. I want mine to switch on earlier. I normally use headlights in poor light or low viz conditions but the clio ones seem to come on a bit late (compared to the ones on my last Jag).

If there is no adjustment has any one tried cutting the light to the sensor with a sticker or similar.

Only way to roll with Xenons iirc. Need to sort them so they always come on, however light it is.
