automatic lights wont come on??!!!

hi,a lad i know turned the key on my clio 172 so that all the dashboard lights come on (he said its how renault test the comp)??? and since then i have to turn the lights on manually as they wont come on automatically!!! any idea how to get them to work again plz,hope this makes sense! xx :S

Turn the ignition on and turn the light stalk to sidelights and off twice. You should get a beep (or two) if you get it right.

it beeped when i tried it,just have to see when it gets dark,thank you x
