Aux belt changes time interval

What is the official time interval between aux belt changes on a 1*2, 3 or 5 years?

One of my mates who worked for ren claimed they recommended yearly changes on the ac aux setup if doing a few miles as it give so many issues, with tensioner seizing etc.
