aux lower pulley

  clio 182
Hi all,

Been to the local garage and have just been told that the aux lower pulley is on its way out. Its sounds like a bust bearing noise and gets faster when reved. Im wanting to take it to northwestperformance to be replaced with the cambelt but the local mechanic said it would be to risky to drive the 70 mile trip.

what do you think?

cheers

depends how bad it is, if it s***s itself it will throw the belt off, wrap round the crank, bye bye engine!

well if you look at it like

70miles - £10-15 in petrol? (each way?)

RS tuning - maybe £100 more?

new engine £3.5k

Wise words ^^^ Give Paul a call at RS tuning as they are on your doorstep. You don't want aux belt shreading into cam belt. It is an expensive fix.
