Aux tensioner

  Clio 172 Phase 2
Alright guys ! Started to change the Aux kit on my 172 ph2. Got the belt off, undone all bolts on tensioner. But can't get it out the engine bay as the gap is too small.

Any ideas how to take out and put new one in ?

What way is the easiest to get it all back together ? What pulley do you leave till last to put the belt over ?

Or has anyone got a complete guide ? As I'm going off the cuff here.

Regards Carlos

See page 07-03 in the attached, going off the cuff isn't a good way to do things. I undo the alternator top bolt, move the alternator forward a little and put the belt back on that pulley last - then push it back in place and refit the bolt. In addition to using a tensioning tool I hold the tensioner in place using a good quality hose clip (I use Jubillee branded ones from an agricultural suppliers, they're very strong unlike usual hose clips you can buy) that way you have your hands free to fit the belt - this method isn't 100% correct or risk free but it works for me. Beware that if you don't use the right tensioner tool the tensioner can snap.
