You could also try Clamwin, its free and opensource, works well, uses less memory than those you mention. I've tried AVG and Avast and the free ones aren't as good as Clamwin.

Now I bought NOD32, its the best, even MS developers use it.

I've tried both for some time, had AVG for years, tried avast about 6 months back and kept it, tbh never seems better then tother, both cracking programs for free and better then Norton s**t!
