AVH-6500DVD Help

I need help!?

I have just bought a AVH-6500DVD fitted it, it looks great! BUT.... how do I wire it so it will play dvds while the hadbreak is off, there is a wire I am told i MUST cable in to the handbreak switch in order for it to play dvds, this will only allow the dvd to be viewed when the handbreak is on.

Obviously im not going to be watching them while driving but my passengers are.

Also i have already though about driving round with the handbreak on but have decided it best to find another solution.

Any advice would be much appreciated!!

Surely you just connect it to either positive or negative?! (Depending on how the handbrake switch works)

Yes thats right just earth it, it has that nice helpful connector that you just clip over an existing wire and squeeze together really hard and bobs your uncle!!

Any other questions drop me a line as I installed the exact same unit about six weeks ago

LOL ooops sorry saw this a lil late!

Yer the green wire i beleive it is, with push clip connector at the end of it, connect that to the black wire coming round the back of the head unit,

the green wire needs to be ground.

Then u can enjoy DVDs all the tiem :)

yeah cut the connector off the green wire and ground it. I took it into the engine bay and did it! Did u find it v v v v hard to fit the unit in with all those wires? It took me hours.

with most cars if possible drop glove box out and youll be able to pull through excess wires and stash them easier

saves the hours or cramming your hand through stereo cage trying to ram the wires back and usually cutting your hand up in the process

I gave up on trying to cram all the wires back in even with the dashboard off, succombed and took it to my dealer who did the cramming of wires for me!!
