B&M Quickshift

im buying the above....and just want to know if anyone knows a cheaper place than k-tec......they are £180 delivered from k-tec buts that not including members discount.

I don't know of anywhereunfortunatly. However I wouldn't recomend getting one its not that good the shifts no better and you cannot rush the box anyway.

I drive both my 172 cup with a quickshift and the wife's 182 without, and much rather drive mine. The 182 is like jumping into a bus. The quickshift also helped a slightly slopy gearbox, as the replacement "tophat" bushes are much snugger.
All this is just my opinion.

cheers ppl........im baught one now...got it from k-tec.it was the cheapest with the discount.....i really like the shortshift.ive drove carbon copy's 172 with it on and its fab....(cheers chris)

the B&M are meant to be rubbish and the gear lever is just too small, one user on here even had one snap in his hand.

cant belive knowone has mentioned the new one by BBPT that has been specifically designed for the 172/182 !!!

thats the one im getting, doesnt hardly alter the gear lengh but its better than the B&M.

Yup AFAIK, it was a VAG B&M (for his 1.8T engine)- so hardly comparable to the renault ones ?

get buckets on Yozzasport subframes like me then.

I've never had any problems with mine and it's been abused many a time.

I had one one mine when I got the car, it sat to low down & you had to reach for it. Soon came off & replaced for standard stick. Much nicer to drive now imho.

I am 6 foot so I wounder if that is the problem. It really felt un-natural having to lean towards the gear stick

i have massive problems with mine. its so sticky when the engine gets hot.so gard to move. so much so that sometimes it took two hands to put it into gear.
